Health Dangers of Eating Too Much Red Meat

  • Delicious to eat but difficult to digest:

Even if you cook the red meat really well, it will still be hard to digest. Eating a lot of it will put abundance of pressure on the digestive enzyme which will cause acid fat omega 6 to accumulate in your body. This condition will give rise to inflammation along with which comes tonsil, ulcers and joints pain.   • Cancer and heart diseases:

Red meat contains several toxic organic and chemical particles, one of them being dioxin coming from the grass that animals eat, which increase the risk of cancer, including pancreatic, colon and breast cancers. In addition to this, red meat is rich in cholesterol and saturated fat which may give rise to cardiac diseases.

  • Stomach acidity:

People enjoy a lot of meat dishes on Eid-ul-Azha and even after the Eid is long gone. Since every dish contains too much of meat, salt and spices, this can cause stomach acidity.

  • Gastrointestinal issues:

It is a well-known habit of people to store the extra meat in their refrigerators on Eid day for future use. Try to store only that much which you can use within 10 days because after that, eating that meat may cause food poisoning, diarrhea and other gastrointestinal problems.

  • Osteoporosis:

Meat also contain high levels of dietary protein which forces your body to get rid of more calcium. This excretion of calcium may lead to a condition called osteoporosis where your bones get soft and weak.

  • Kidney problems:

Since the kidneys’ function is to excrete the extra proteins from your body, too much consumption of meat, may stress the kidneys out. This may result in kidney damage or even kidney failure.

  • Alzheimer’s disease:

Eating a lot of red meat may also cause complications in your mental health. It is said that red meat can alter your brain activity, resulting in confusion and inattention as well as change in your thinking and behavior. This could get worse and you might even suffer from Alzheimer’s disease as you grow old.

  • Promotes laziness and obesity:

Red meat is said to harden your blood vessels, thus creating problems for oxygen to flow freely to all the parts of the body.
